Location:

The 2010 West Coast Formation Clinic is being held at KMAE, the Madera Municipal Airport in Madera, CA. This location was chosen based on several criteria:

 

  • High probability of good VFR weather
  • Central location — reasonable distance for pilots flying in from all over the west coast
  • Long & wide runway(s) for formation takeoffs and landings
  • Availability of nearby practice areas
  • Nearby hotel with reasonable/group rate
  • Availability of 100LL fuel
  • Plenty of transient parking space (tiedowns) available
  • It worked well last year!

Self-serve fuel is available in at least one spot on the ramp. We may be getting a discounted fuel price from Bode Enterprises. More on this TBD as we get closer to the clinic date.

Transient parking: there are plenty of tiedown spots near the airport terminal building. There are tiedown chains, but bring your own tiedown ropes just in case. We may end up having hangar space for a good number of RVs at the clinic. TBD...stay tuned.
